The 2009/2010 football season has come to an end. The teams from our county performed well in the Lower Silesian competition. The most spectacular achievement was Twardy Świętoszów’s promotion. The team have been promoted to the Lower Silesian–Lubusz Third League. The Świętoszów side, as newcomers to the Fourth League, confidently pursued promotion throughout the season. The team coached by BKS Bolesławiec youth product Jakub Wołyński recorded 19 wins, 6 draws and only 5 defeats over the entire season.

Until construction of the stadium in Świętoszów is completed, the newly promoted Third League army side will continue to play at the ground in Osiecznica. It is already known that the club will have a new coach in the Third League. Jakub Wołyński resigned from coaching the team for professional and personal reasons. Combining the training sessions and courses he intends to complete with coaching a Third League team is not possible. Quite simply, Jakub will not have enough time for everything. The former Twardy coach is convinced that the team will cope in the Third League. Jakub Wołyński wants to spend the near future on a well-deserved rest.

Promotion for Warta Bolesławiecka, Iwiny and Twardy II

In the final Class A match, GKS Warta Bolesławiecka drew 3:3 with Piast Wykroty. The Warta team needed one point to secure promotion. They managed to bring that valuable point back from Wykroty, although it was not easy. The visitors were already 2:0 down. They managed to equalise 10 minutes before the end of the match. Warta Bolesławiecka’s goals were scored by: Mariusz Rupa, Tomasz Hyjek and Jacek Kapecki. Piast’s goals were scored by: Piotr Krawczyk (2) and Grzegorz Roman. GKS Iwiny and Twardy II Świętoszów have also been promoted to a higher division. From next season, both teams will play their matches in Class A.
