A reader contacted us to draw attention to cars being parked on green areas that are not intended for parking:
I am attaching photos of cars parked on a lawn, or rather on what is left of it—a so-called bare patch. The issue is all the more interesting because the cars are damaging the green area, while the municipal police do not respond and thus allow this kind of parking.

What does the municipal police say?
Here is the comment we received on the matter:
I kindly inform you that municipal police officers intervene whenever parking a vehicle constitutes an offense specified in Article 144 § 1 of the Code of Petty Offenses.

What does the aforementioned article of the Code of Petty Offenses say? We quote its text:
Art. 144. Destruction of or damage to vegetation, lawns or green areas.
§ 1.
Anyone who, in areas intended for public use, destroys or damages vegetation, or allows vegetation to be destroyed by animals under their supervision, or, in areas intended for public use, walks on a lawn or green area in places other than those designated for recreational purposes by the competent area manager, is liable to a fine of up to PLN 1,000 or a reprimand.
