The ceremony was organized by the team from the Municipal Cultural Centre and Library in Gromadka, together with Magdalena Gąsior, a history teacher at the Primary School in Gromadka.
The event began with a mini-concert by the GOKiB brass band, which resumed its activities after the pandemic. The musicians, conducted by Janusz Trepiak, performed excellently. Wonderful dancers from the Municipal Kindergarten in Gromadka danced the Krakowiak. Children from the Primary School in Modła and the Primary School in Osła sang the songs “What Is Independence?” and “We Are a Polish Girl and a Polish Boy” very professionally.
Young people from the Primary School in Gromadka spoke about the hardships of war through beautiful and moving poems: “Tell Us, Homeland” by Janusz Szczepkowski and “The One Who Did Not Perish” by Edward Słoński. The municipal folk groups “My Słowianie” from Osła, Wesoła Gromadka from Gromadka and “Ale Babki” from Różyniec performed, as usual, beautifully, this time with patriotic songs: “Heart in a Backpack,” “War, Little War” and “Infantry.”
The musical complement to the event was a saxophone concert performed by guest Dariusz Gruszecki.
A screening of the film “The Undefeated: A Time of Trial” served as a unique summary of the events aimed at regaining freedom.
We thank everyone who contributed to organizing and carrying out this beautiful ceremony. We also thank everyone who came to celebrate with us in such large numbers.
