A resident of Bolesławiec, Iga Tur, currently a student at our I Liceum Ogólnokształcące, came under the wing of Wojtek Szajwaj, an outstanding blues guitarist known, among other things, from Obstawą Prezydenta and the completely non-blues Sumptuastic.

Iga learned to play the guitar with W. Szajwaj, but during one of the lessons she forgot herself and also began humming along. – I liked it very much – recalls the young songwriter’s mentor. – I sensed talent in her and noticed her originality.

The guitarist began encouraging his protégé to start writing her own songs. – It took a while before I managed to persuade her – he admits.

Iga currently has three original songs to her name, with her own lyrics. Her favorite of her own songs? “Jeśli,” because it was the first one she wrote. But she is already working on more. Her plans? A debut album.

She gained her first stage experience at the Bolesławiec Ceramics Festival. Her repertoire includes covers, but she focuses primarily on original songs.

Music accompanies her every day. – It gives me enormous pleasure; it is a safe haven for me – Iga confesses. She adds that in the future she would like to devote herself to this field of art. – I would like to do only what I love – she emphasizes.

As she admits, her music is addressed to everyone, regardless of age. She sings about things that essentially anyone can identify with, such as love—both the happy kind and the kind that did not work out.

Wojtek Szajwaj shares this opinion: – It is mature music; Iga is mature for her age.
