As a result of the call for applications held as part of a competition conducted by the Wrocław Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, for co-financing projects related to the implementation of municipal programmes for the removal of asbestos and asbestos-containing products in 2022, the City of Bolesławiec received a grant for “Removal of asbestos-containing products from the City of Bolesławiec in 2022”.
The task aimed to eliminate asbestos-containing products from properties located within the City of Bolesławiec. Applications in this matter were submitted by residents, owners and users of properties located in Bolesławiec, as well as by lessees of garden plots belonging to Family Allotment Gardens who had previously been recorded in the asbestos database.
The work included the collection and dismantling of asbestos-cement sheets, along with their loading, transport and disposal at a hazardous-waste landfill. The contractor for the task was Logistyka Odpadów-Realizacje Sp. z o.o., with its registered office at ul. Szkolna 20, 43-300 Bielsko-Biała.
The total cost of carrying out the task amounted to PLN 31,246.99, including eligible costs of PLN 20,678, of which the grant received from the Wrocław Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, allocated for the removal of asbestos-containing products, amounted to PLN 8,271.20. The remaining amount, PLN 22,975.79, constituted the own contribution of the Municipality of Bolesławiec.
The project achieved a material and environmental effect consisting of the removal of asbestos and asbestos-containing products in the amount of 29.54 Mg (tonnes).
