Workers of the former Konrad mine in Iwiny and the Lubin mine want to be treated equally. The issue concerns the coal allowance. According to Piotr Borys, a Member of Parliament from the Civic Coalition, the annual loss suffered by retirees and pensioners amounts to PLN 1,199 (they will receive that much less).

According to the MP, this concerns more than 5,000 people. This is a loss compared with other people entitled to receive the coal allowance, for whom the allowance will amount to PLN 3,691. As an example of people treated more favorably, the MP cites miners from the Polkowice-Sieroszowice and Rudna mines.

MP Piotr Borys met with retirees and pensioners from ZG Konrad on Monday (September 26) at his office in Bolesławiec.

MP Borys stresses that this is not the first intervention concerning unequal treatment:

In this matter, the President of KGHM did not respond to requests from retirees, trade unions or parliamentary letters. Together with retired miners, we will demand equal treatment for miners—retirees.

Together with the retired miners, the MP wants the loss to be made up and all KGHM miners to be treated according to the same rules.
