A band consisting of 1,000 amateur and professional instrumentalists and vocalists from across Poland performed 18 of the greatest megahits of all time before thousands of spectators at PGE Narodowy in Warsaw. The songs included hits by stars such as Bajm, Lady Pank, Urszula, The Rolling Stones, Guns N’Roses, The Clash and AC/DC.
To join Poland’s largest band, Wojtek Stefańczyk, a guitarist from Bolesławiec, had to play AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.” Then came weeks of practice and rehearsals lasting several hours at the Warsaw stadium.
During the concert, Wojtek played with performers including Jan Borysewicz, the project’s ambassador, and Janusz Panasewicz (both from Lady Punk), Leszek Cichoński (Guitar World Record), Doda, Andrzej Krzywy (De Mono), Michał Wiśniewski, Urszula and Joanna Lazer of Red Lips.
– It is a great honor and pleasure for me to play with the best in a place where music stars such as Depeche Mode, Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, Metallica, AC/DC and The Rolling Stones have performed before – Wojtek said.
Wojtek Stefańczyk was musically mentored by Wojtek Szajwaj. Extended excerpts from the concert:
