During the finale of the World Suicide Prevention Day observances, held in the Bolesławiec market square on 16 September, the hospital director reminded attendees about the unmarked vehicle at the hospital’s disposal.

“We also have an unmarked vehicle,” said Jarosław Karbowski, “because previously, the arrival of our company vehicle at the home of someone in need could lead to comments. We now have an unmarked vehicle, and our staff arrive in civilian clothes so that everything is completely discreet and comfortable for the person who needs psychological help. If someone does not want to or cannot go to the hospital, the hospital will come to their home, and our assistance covers the following counties: bolesławiecki and lwówecki,” the director added.

Wojewódzki Szpital dla Nerwowo i Psychicznie Chorych w Bolesławcu and Miasto Bolesławiec organized the World Suicide Prevention Day observances under the slogan “Let’s talk about life.” In this way, residents of the region were invited to engage in dialogue about life and to build awareness of mutual interdependence and shared responsibility, in accordance with the message “I am because we are.”

The finale of the observances took place on 16 September in the Bolesławiec market square and concluded with a warmly received concert performed by Adam Sypuła with his band. The program featured songs by artists who died prematurely as a result of drug overdoses or suicide.
