Ministry: — Vaccination with the second booster dose will be carried out using preparations against the Omicron BA.1 or BA.4/5 variants. In nearly 90 percent of cases, they protect against severe COVID-19 or hospitalization.
— The number of infections has been rising in recent days. Fortunately, the number of hospitalizations remains stable and relatively low. Vaccination is the best method of combating the coronavirus. So far, we have issued 5 million e-referrals for a second booster dose against COVID-10. During the night of 15–16 September, we will issue another 5.8 million — says Adam Niedzielski.
Priority for the second booster dose is given to people in at-risk groups: those aged 60 and over, people with chronic diseases, people with immune disorders, medical staff who have contact with patients or infectious material, as well as residents and employees of long-term care facilities.
— As early as 16 September, there will be available appointments in the vaccination centres’ calendars, so that people can register for vaccination even on that day — the health minister assures.
