Evacuation completed, unexploded ordnance removed.
Let us recall. On September 12, unexploded ordnance was found near the Nowogrodziec Police Station. The evacuation of residents from the danger zone within a 400 m radius of the aforementioned building is under way.
The find is a German artillery projectile, caliber: 8.8 cm. Its fuze is damaged. (This poses an additional danger to the bomb-disposal specialists).
It is unofficially estimated that approximately 2,000 people will be evacuated. Voivodeship road no. 357 will be closed.
At around 10:00, soldiers from the Bolesławiec Bomb Disposal Patrol of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment will deal with the dangerous find. The bomb-disposal specialists' operations are expected to take approximately one hour.
The unexploded ordnance will be retrieved remotely, placed in fragmentation-proof containers and then safely transported to a training ground, where it will be destroyed.

For the duration of the evacuation, rooms have been prepared in the community center in Milików and the community center in Zebrzydowa. Transport to these locations is provided for people who do not have their own means of transport. (…) On September 13, from 8:00, pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the danger area will be suspended until further notice.
Information about the end of the evacuation will appear on www.nowogrodziec.pl and on the Facebook profiles of the mayor and the municipal office, as well as in local media. The information will also be announced over a loudspeaker.
