The juniors from Bolesławiecki Klub Brydżowy returned from Krakow satisfied. The Polish Bridge Championships in the under-15 category were held in the capital of Małopolska last weekend. Bolesławiec was represented by a modest team of four competitors. As part of the championships, a pairs tournament and a teams tournament were held. A total of 160 young bridge players competed.
The pairs tournament began the competition. The Norman Lippik–Rafał Molenda pair finished 24th with a score of 55.29%. Although the boys themselves were not satisfied with their performance, it should be noted that they were the best pair from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The second pair, Krystian Fecyk–Szymon Kut (10 years old!), finished 51st. Considering Szymon’s age, the result gives reason for optimism about the future.
The BKB juniors performed even better in the teams tournament. Although they began the competition with two defeats, including one against the eventual champions, they went on to win all their remaining matches, ultimately finishing in 10th place in Poland! This is, so far, the best performance by young bridge players from Bolesławiec. The young Bolesławiec players have participated in the championships for the third year. After the sporting competition ended, all participants toured Krakow.
