Wednesday’s match in Łomnica began with a delay. The reason was a breakdown of the bus carrying the Bolesławiec players to the game. Fortunately, despite the temporary problems, they managed to reach their destination and play.

As we read on the BKS Facebook profile:

The match was controlled by the regional league leaders, who imposed their style on us and threatened Tomasz Hajduczek’s goal several times. Our boys also had their chances, but lacked accuracy. In the 26th minute, the BKS Bolesławiec goalkeeper saved a penalty taken by the hosts, preventing us from conceding a goal.

In the 39th minute, Dawid Kowalonek made a good impression on the left and delivered an accurate cross into the penalty area, where Marek Majka was already waiting and put BKS ahead 1–0. After the change of ends, the course of play did not change much. In the 56th minute, the hosts took their second penalty of the day, but this time they also failed to beat Tomasz Hajduczek.

In the 75th minute, the players from Łomnica had reason to celebrate, as Mateusz Cieślik scored the equaliser. The score did not change until the final whistle, so promotion was to be decided by a penalty shootout. BKS Bolesławiec won the shootout, although the hosts had a chance to tip the balance in their favour.

The hosts made things really difficult for our boys, and promotion did not come easily. Let’s hope that already on Saturday we will perform better, this time on the pitches of the Lower Silesian fourth division.
