A reader came across a road covered in mud while cycling through the area. We remind you that, if a road is contaminated, it should be cleaned. Leaving such a road uncleared may result in penalties.
The Code of Petty Offences regulates the situation and provides for a fine, among other things, for contaminating a public road, for example by agricultural vehicles leaving fields or heavy goods vehicles leaving a construction site.
Code of Petty Offences:
Art. 91. Anyone who contaminates a public road or leaves a vehicle, another object or an animal on that road in circumstances that may cause danger or obstruct road traffic shall be subject to a fine of up to PLN 1,500 or a reprimand.
