The newly elected head of Gromadka Municipality Ryszard Kawka wants firefighting reservoirs to be built in various parts of the municipality. Why? At present—and while an operation related to a massive fire at one of the plants in the industrial zone is under way—uniformed personnel have to draw water from various sources; the capacity of the hydrant networks has proved insufficient.
When the fire broke out, R. Kawka, who was still the mayor-elect in spe, together with Gromadka Municipality Secretary Tomasz Matyjewicz opened the outdoor swimming pool for the firefighters, from which the uniformed personnel drew water.
