Anti-Polish posters appeared in Bolesławiec in July last year. Twenty-four-year-old Jurgen D., 21-year-old Robet G. and 23-year-old Stephan R. were supposed to answer for insulting the Polish nation and inciting hatred between Germans and Poles.

Yesterday, however, the court in Jelenia Góra ruled that the men would be tried only for putting up posters without the property manager’s consent. They face a maximum fine of PLN 1,500.

The posters were put up at bus stops and on noticeboards. Their content suggested that Poles had murdered Germans on a mass scale and that displaced Germans were demanding the return of their property.
