The D-42 sign tells drivers that they are entering a built-up area. The built-up area ends at the D-43 sign.
Last year, the speed limit in built-up areas was standardised at 50 km/h (unless other signs regulate the speed).
Let us recall that before the regulations changed, the speed limit in built-up areas was 60 km/h at night.
As reported by the rmf.fm service:
D-42 is probably one of the signs most frequently ignored by drivers. Unfortunately, some of them are unaware that “overlooking” it can lead to severe consequences.
Exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h in a built-up area results in the loss of a driving licence for three months. In addition, the driver receives a PLN 1,500 fine and 10 penalty points.
