The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted immediately after the Russian aggression against Ukraine – Polish consulates in that country secured the Pole’s Cards in their possession and sent them to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Warsaw. The documents are being issued there successively to those interested who report to collect them.
The Republic of Poland’s website: – To ensure that Ukrainian citizens staying in Poland can submit an application for a Pole’s Card without having to travel to Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has prepared a regulation that will make this possible.
Thanks to the provisions adopted by the Council of Ministers, which will enter into force within the next few weeks, submitting an application for a Pole’s Card will be easier. Government:
Ukrainian citizens subject to the provisions of the Act of 7 September 2007 on the Pole’s Card will be able to submit an application at any voivodeship office, according to their place of residence in Poland, rather than, as under the previously applicable provisions, only at Polish consulates outside our country. This will fulfil the statutory obligation to enable eligible persons to submit an application for a Pole’s Card despite the suspension of operations by most consulates of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine, caused by the aggression of the Russian Federation against that country.
Who will be able to submit such an application?
Applications may be submitted by both people who already held a Pole’s Card and those applying for a Pole’s Card for the first time. The documents may be collected where the applications were submitted, without having to travel to Ukraine. (Due to the impeded operation of Polish consulates also in Belarus and Russia, the above provisions will also apply to citizens of those countries).
