Inspectors carried out activities on the premises of a property near Lubań after receiving a report of the illegal dismantling of vehicles. WIOŚ: – The inspection confirmed the illegal practice of removing parts from vehicles. The inspectors found the site contaminated with waste from dismantling cars.
The office adds: – It was found that the dismantling of vehicles was carried out in a manner that could endanger life, health or the environment, as confirmed by tests of soil samples collected by employees of the Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection Central Research Laboratory, Wrocław Branch.
The results of the soil sample tests showed exceedances of the limits for most elements from the group of heavy metals and petroleum-derived substances, including a significant exceedance of the mineral oil content.

In view of the unlawful handling of waste connected with the dismantling of vehicles, under conditions and in a manner that could endanger human life or health, reduce the quality of water, air or land, or cause destruction in the plant or animal world, a notification was submitted to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lubań pursuant to Article 182 of the Criminal Code.
Moreover, the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Inspector of Environmental Protection will conduct administrative proceedings to impose a financial penalty on those responsible for the illegal dismantling of vehicles.
A reminder. Due to the environmental threat, vehicles should be dismantled at dismantling stations, which are specially organized facilities.
