On 7 July, in a forest near Kierżno (the municipality of Nowogrodziec), the Pomost Historical and Archaeological Research Workshop conducted a search and exhumation work. As we read on the workshop’s Facebook profile:

(...) Near the railway line southeast of the village, there was a forgotten forest grave. Inside, we discovered the looted burial of a German soldier. We did not find an identification tag among his remains.

The Pomost Historical and Archaeological Research Workshop:

We appeal to all people of goodwill to provide information about burial sites of German and Polish soldiers, as well as Greater Poland Insurgents, in the following voivodeships: Greater Poland, Lower Silesian, Lubusz, West Pomeranian, Opole and Kuyavian-Pomeranian.

Every piece of information is extremely valuable to us, and we will carefully verify each one. We also inform you that a person reporting such a site bears no legal, financial or moral responsibility. Let us help build “Polish-German reconciliation”.
