To the Paid Parking Zone office, massive queues have been forming for several days. The reason? On July 1, a year had passed since the zone began operating, and a substantial number of residents forgot that they needed to purchase a new subscription.
Robert Rzepnicki, head of the Public Procurement and Municipal Investments Department at Bolesławiec City Hall, admits that residents have not yet fully got used to the PPZ. He also says that the zone has both supporters and staunch opponents.
Why not online?
The official explains that the subscription matter cannot be handled via the internet because, in order to pay the fee, one must present a document confirming that the person is registered as a resident of the City of Ceramics or that they pay taxes here. (That means either an identity card or the PIT form for the previous year.)
For one of the residents standing in line to renew his subscription, a fine served as a painful reminder. In the Bolesławiec resident’s opinion, those whose subscriptions had expired should be exempt from fees for a few days. A reminder would be enough, so that they could calmly take care of the formalities.
The man added that we live in fast-paced times and it is impossible to remember everything. What do you think? We invite you to join the discussion.
