On 29 June, a discharge session was held in Nowogrodziec. As reported by the Nowogrodziec local authorities:
The Nowogrodziec Municipal Council adopted a resolution granting a vote of confidence to the Mayor of Nowogrodziec. Having reviewed the report on the execution of the budget of Gmina and Town of Nowogrodziec for 2021, and taking into account the motion of the Audit Committee of the Municipal Council concerning the discharge for the Mayor of Nowogrodziec, which received a positive opinion from the Regional Chamber of Audit in Wrocław, Jelenia Góra Branch, it adopted a resolution granting the Mayor of Nowogrodziec a discharge for 2021.
Thirteen councillors voted in favour; one, Tadeusz Karasiewicz, abstained.
Interestingly, the head of the Nowogrodziec local authorities, Robert Relich, and the chairman of the “Peace and Good” councillors’ club, Krzysztof Sadowski, received a bouquet of nettles at that session—instead of traditional flowers—from councillor Artur Kozioł (the “Effectively and Together” club). The mayor’s own comment was published on the local authorities’ website:
Nettles instead of flowers are the new standard, but I accept it in good faith, because it is, after all, a herb—a medicinal herb—and it will surely help each of us. I do not know why people make such impolite gestures, but the voters will judge that too.
