The individual tournament was contested by the 32 best female players from across the country. In her first match, Krystyna Szwajkowska faced Agata Świst, representing UKS Kiko Zamość. The match ended with a convincing victory for the player from Bolesławiec, 11:2 and 11:8.
The next match was not so easy. The player from Bolesławiec had reached the group of the 16 best female badminton players who had advanced from the earlier rounds. This time, her opponent was Agata Rzepczyk, ranked second in the Polish Badminton Association rankings.
The match began with a decisive advantage for our player. However, when the score was 9:2 in favour of the player from Bolesławiec, her game stopped being effective. Her opponent began to make up the deficit, until the large lead dwindled to a 9:9 tie. Fortunately, the set ended with a 11:9 win for our player.
In the second set, Agata Rzepczyk proved to be the better player, confidently defeating the player from Bolesławiec 11:2. After two sets, the score was 1:1. In the third set, Krystyna Szwajkowska gave her opponent no chance and defeated her 11:4.
On the second day of the competition, our player faced Małgorzata Kurdelska from AZS Warszawa. Unfortunately, the player from Bolesławiec was unable to win this match. She lost both sets, 3:11 and 4:11. The exhausting matches on the previous day presumably affected our player's strength.
Despite this, Krystyna Szwajkowska's performance should be considered a success. Our player is one of the eight best female badminton players in Poland.
