The Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters on yesterday’s incident in Milików:

Police officers are carrying out actions aimed at arresting a 35-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County, wanted, among other reasons, in connection with thefts and burglaries he had previously committed.

Yesterday, at around 12:00, officers wanted to arrest a person in one of the residential buildings in the Nowogrodziec municipality who, by court decision, is to serve several years in prison.

The intervention proved dangerous, as is often the case in police service. Immediately after the door was opened, the man attacked the officers; he was aggressive, extremely agitated and did not respond to the officers’ orders.

The result? Officers: “Physical restraint techniques were used to arrest him, but this did not produce the desired result.

The man remained aggressive and highly agitated and attacked the officers. The County Police Headquarters: A struggle ensued, as a result of which one of the officers briefly had his gun wrested away, and one shot was fired from it. The man discarded the gun and then fled. No one was injured.

The officers immediately began searching for him. Bolesławiec police:

As always in such cases, an alert was issued for the unit. Police officers from riot-prevention units also joined the search. These efforts are currently under way; our priority is to determine as quickly as possible where the wanted man is.
