The first verdict in the case of child-abusing priest Piotr M. was handed down in March 2020. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison. The case went to the Court of Appeal in Jelenia Góra. In 2021, it reduced the sentence for the child-abusing priest to 4 years. Piotr M. filed a cassation appeal against the verdict with the Supreme Court.

– On 31 May 2022, the appeal (i.e. a cassation appeal in favor of the defendant) was dismissed as obviously unfounded. No statement of reasons was prepared in this case – informs Justyna Piskorek from the Supreme Court Information Center.

Priest Piotr M., the parish priest from Ruszów, was convicted of molesting two intellectually disabled girls whom he was preparing for Holy Communion.
