In footage sent to us by Kacper, a witness to the incident, we can see two men preparing to cross the Bóbr from one side to the other via the waterfall, where the current is very strong. After a moment, the two men take the woman accompanying them by the arms and walk through the waterfall. The video cuts off because, when the person filming noticed that the current had knocked the man and woman off their feet, he stopped recording and rushed to help. Roman got there first. The Belarusian, who works in Bolesławiec, was spending Saturday afternoon relaxing by the river.
When the Belarusian noticed that the man had managed to stand up but the river had swept the woman away, he dropped the phone he had been talking on and ran into the water to help the drowning woman. When he reached her, she was unconscious. She regained consciousness only after a moment. Then, terrified, she threw her arms around Roman’s neck. This was also a very dangerous moment for both of them. Roman was badly frightened because the current was strong and he was also afraid that they would both drown. He tells the whole story in front of our camera.
