Recently, we reported that Bolesławiec City will receive more than PLN 34 million from the Polish Deal programme. Most of this money will be allocated to the swimming pools on Spacerowa Street. The rest will go towards the municipal stadium on Spółdzielcza Street.
What exactly will be done on Spółdzielcza Street in Bolesławiec?
- The plan is to construct a category IVA running track together with the necessary warm-up facilities. (The track will be category IVA, allowing official athletics competitions to be held under the auspices of the Polish Athletics Association).
- The pitch dimensions will allow third-tier football championship matches to be played. The facility will serve the Bolesławiec community, including local sports clubs.
- In addition, the athletics stadium is planned to include:
- a 400-metre oval athletics track (6 oval lanes and 8 straight lanes);
- two high-jump areas;
- two two-runway long-jump and triple-jump areas;
- a double-sided pole-vault area;
- two javelin-throw areas;
- a discus- and hammer-throw area;
- two shot-put areas;
- a water pit for steeplechase events.
What's more, a pitch with a natural-grass surface and a playing area measuring 64 x 100 m is planned inside the track. The pitch will also include technical infrastructure for running athletics competitions.
Football fans have not been forgotten
City Hall: – Professional football goals will be installed behind the goal lines. The goals will be dismantled while athletics competitions are being held. The pitch will be equipped with stadium shelters for substitute players and a shelter for referees.
That's not all. The complex will also include, among other things:
- a warm-up shot-put area;
- a warm-up track with a long-jump and triple-jump area;
- stands for home and visiting supporters, as well as a section for disabled supporters and their carers;
- mobile stadium shelters for the substitute players of both teams.
It is not yet known when the work will be completed. We will certainly return to the subject.
