The summer season will begin soon. Warm and sunny days encourage spending free time by the water. When choosing a place to relax, let us remember to use safe, supervised locations, preferably those where water safety officers are responsible for people’s safety.

When sailing a boat, kayaking or riding a pedal boat, let us familiarise ourselves with the facility’s regulations, signs and instructions for staying on the premises. Let us remember to put on life jackets and that the equipment should be in good working order and certified.

Children should play by the water only under the watchful supervision of adults.

We must never enter the water, even after drinking the smallest amount of alcohol. In such a state, we should also not use any watercraft or other water equipment.

While relaxing by the water, let us remember that we are not alone. Let us not disturb other people’s leisure, litter the body of water or its shoreline. Let us leave the place tidy so that others can enjoy relaxing there as well.

Let us also remember that thieves do not take a break while we are enjoying ourselves. Let us keep an eye on the personal belongings we bring to the water. We should also not leave valuable items in the car.

If you witness a dangerous situation or your health or life is at risk, call the emergency number 112. Qualified services will come to help.
