The Volunteer Fire Department from Wierzbowa, together with OSP Gromadka and JRG Bolesławiec, was dispatched to a fire in a forest approximately 4 km from Wierzbowa.
The firefighters’ intervention would not have differed significantly from similar incidents involving forest fires were it not for the fact that Monday’s report of the fire came during a downpour and storm passing over Wierzbowa.
The fire was probably caused by a lightning strike.
