During the next session of Bolesławiec City Council, councillors will consider a draft resolution “on determining the location of a housing development project entitled: »Construction of a Complex of Multi-Family Residential Buildings on Staroszkolna Street in Bolesławiec«, located on plot no. 478, precinct 10, in Bolesławiec”.
The document refers to buildings that are to be constructed “in the city centre between Staroszkolna and Hutnicza Streets, in the immediate vicinity of the housing estate along Jana Pawła II, M. Wańkowicza and K. I. Gałczyńskiego Streets (...)”. The justification states:
An argument in favour of adopting an appropriate resolution supporting projects involving the construction of multi-family buildings is the economic development of Bolesławiec. Industrial plants, making use of solutions implemented by the local government, are undertaking further investments, increasing their production and employment potential. Existing plants located in the industrial area around Kościuszki, Przemysłowa and Modłowa Streets, as well as the close proximity of industrial and logistics centres outside the city, provide numerous jobs, which continues to generate new housing needs.
(…) The Mayor of Bolesławiec and Bolesławiec City Council support the development of residential construction, especially since the prospect of rapidly increasing the municipality’s housing stock is supported by investment activity from private-sector investors in this area.
In the context of providing new residential areas, the expansion of settlement areas intended for housing should primarily involve completing and intensifying the development of existing urban structures, followed by adding new developed areas in the immediate vicinity of the boundaries of existing built-up areas.
The proposed location of the residential development next to the existing housing estate, with access to existing technical infrastructure and in the immediate vicinity of multi-family residential buildings, takes into account the municipality’s development needs and possibilities arising from the provisions of the Study of Conditions and Directions of Spatial Development of the city of Bolesławiec.
More details are available on the Bolesławiec municipal office website. We will certainly return to the topic.
