On May 5, a competition on road safety knowledge was held for primary school pupils. Officers from the Road Traffic Division of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, in cooperation with Primary School No. 4, organized the tournament. Its aim is to reinforce schoolchildren’s knowledge of road traffic regulations and rules, as well as to improve the safety of cyclists and pedestrians.

The teams competed in two age categories: the younger group—pupils in Years 4–5, and the older group—pupils in Years 6–8.

How did the tournament itself proceed? First, the participants completed a test consisting of 35 questions. Next, teams from primary schools in Bolesławiec County demonstrated their cycling skills on an obstacle course, where precision was essential.

  2. Primary School in Gierałtów
  3. Primary School No. 3 in Bolesławiec.

The best in the older group

  1. Primary School No. 4 in Bolesławiec
  2. Primary School in Gierałtów
  3. Primary School in Parowa.

The winning teams from “the fourth” advanced to the regional stage, which will take place in Jelenia Góra.

Who performed best individually?

The most points in the individual classification were also scored by pupils from Primary School No. 4 in Bolesławiec:

  • Maksymilian – a Year 5 pupil
  • Artur – a Year 8 pupil.

Both received bicycles as prizes.

The prizes for the competition participants were funded by Santander Bank Polska, Bolesławiec Branch, and Carrefour. The meal for the participants was financed by Bolesławiec Municipality.
