On Sunday, May 1, in Nowogrodziec, as part of the regional league competition, local side Chrobry hosted the leaders from Bolesławiec. The hosts began the match by attacking the visitors’ goal. It was almost enough for the pressure to end in success. In one of the first attacks, the ball hit the crossbar of the BKS goal. In the later stages of the match, the visitors repelled the attacks and took the lead in the 30th minute. The ball was put into Chrobry’s net by Kamil Posadowski. The score did not change before halftime.
After the sides switched, BKS increasingly controlled the situation on the pitch as time passed. The second goal came from a free kick taken by the Bolesławiec side from 17 meters. Maciej Szewczyk scored with a beautiful shot under the crossbar, making it 2–0. Shortly afterward, the hosts scored a goal to get back into the match. It came after a mistake by the BKS goalkeeper, who delayed clearing the ball; Jakub Piekarz took advantage and scored for his team.
After conceding, the frustrated Bolesławiec players sped up their play. During one attack, in Chrobry’s penalty area, the intervening goalkeeper tripped a BKS player, thereby conceding a penalty. Maciej Szewczyk converted it, making it 3–1.
Watch Maciej Szewczyk’s two goals from set pieces (a free kick and a penalty):
Toward the end of the match, Adrian Kulesza cleverly took advantage of a mistake by the Chrobry goalkeeper. The BKS striker ran toward the goalkeeper and impeded him so effectively that the goalkeeper kicked the ball into him, and it... ended up in the goal.
BKS – Chrobry Nowogrodziec 4–1 (1–0).
And on Tuesday, May 3, BKS will host Cosmos Radzimów at Spółdzielcza in Bolesławiec. The match will begin at 11:00.
