What about the A4 from Krzyżowa to Wrocław and the S5 expressway from Sobótka to Bolków?

General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways: – On 21 June 2021, we signed an agreement to prepare documentation for the construction or expansion of the A4 motorway on the approximately 80-km section from the Legnica Południe interchange to the Wrocław Wschód/Stary Śleszów interchange, as well as for the construction of the approximately 50-km Bolków–Sobótka S5 expressway. From January to the end of February this year, we held public information meetings at which the preliminary corridors for the A4 and S5 routes were presented. The meetings were organised for 21 municipalities through which the planned route variants run. Work on the STEŚ is currently under way, and a nature inventory is also being carried out.

The office adds:

We signed the agreement to prepare documentation for the A4 section from Krzyżowa to Legnica on 28 June 2021.

What will the “new” A4 section be like?

The approximately 36-km section of the A4 motorway will be expanded along its existing route, and each carriageway will have three traffic lanes and an emergency lane. In some places, a new carriageway will be built parallel to the existing one, while in others the existing carriageways will be expanded. (In March this year, public information meetings were held in six municipalities through which the planned route variants run. The STEŚ is currently being prepared, while a nature inventory is being carried out in the field).

A18 motorway

The agreement for design work on the Krzyżowa–Golnice section was signed on 9 October 2019. This is the last, just under four-kilometre section of the A18 between Olszyna and Krzyżowa which, like the remaining sections, will be adapted to the technical parameters currently in force.

Road officials: – Emergency lanes 3 m wide will be built on both sides of the motorway. The contractor is preparing the construction design together with the complete set of materials for the application for a ZRID decision, as well as the detailed design and tender documentation. We are currently awaiting the issuance of the DŚU.
