– In the first quarter of 2022, officers of the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław inspected 12 locations in the counties of Zgorzelec, Legnica, Kłodzko and Lwówek, as well as in Głogów, Oława, Kłodzko and Ząbkowice Śląskie – says Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, spokesperson for the Lower Silesian KAS.
She adds:
At the inspected locations, 36 illegal gambling machines and cash amounting to more than PLN 58,000 were uncovered. The seized devices and money were retained as evidence in the case and transferred to the deposit warehouse.
Operating gambling games in violation of the law or the terms of a concession or permit carries criminal liability, including:
- a fine,
- imprisonment for up to 3 years,
- or both penalties combined.
In addition, those operating illegal games face a financial penalty of PLN 100,000 for each machine.
