The Editorial Office received an inquiry from a reader, accompanied by photographs, concerning Matejki Street in Bolesławiec.

The reader wrote:

Who came up with painting a solid line where cars can barely pass each other at the junction of Matejki and Robotnicza, while there are no pavements. Just holes. You could break your legs.

The city informed us that a lane designated for bicycle traffic is being created on this street, while a renovation of the damaged pavement is planned. In the short term, an improvement to its surface has been commissioned.

Agnieszka Gergont, the city office spokesperson:

A designated lane for bicycle traffic is being created on Matejki Street. The City Office will make efforts to include in the expenditure plan for future years a project concerning the modernization of Matejki Street together with the pavement, at least to the extent that would enable the commissioning of technical documentation.

The City Office continuously monitors the condition of road surfaces in Bolesławiec, including the pavement on Matejki Street. If defects threatening the safety of pedestrian traffic appear, or if such a report is received, measures are taken to improve user comfort. An improvement to the condition of the pavement on Matejki Street has been commissioned.
