– During their duty in the Węgliniec area, officers from the Zgorzelec SPEED group of the Traffic Department stopped the driver of a Volkswagen for a roadside check. A search of police databases showed that the 43-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County was subject to a court-imposed ban on driving any motor vehicles – reports Commissioner Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the County Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec. – Additionally, a breathalyzer test showed that the man was intoxicated.

As the officers were finishing the intervention, they noticed the driver of an Opel, who was not wearing a seat belt. As luck would have it, he was a 46-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. It quickly became clear that our fellow resident had… as many as three court-imposed bans on driving vehicles. And that he, too, had gotten behind the wheel while drunk.

Both extremely irresponsible drivers now face up to five years in prison.
