At around 6:30 p.m., Złotoryja traffic officers serving in the Zagrodno municipality stopped an Audi passenger car for a roadside check. A 37-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County was behind the wheel. His behavior and the smell of alcohol suggested that he was under the influence of alcohol. A breathalyzer test confirmed the officers’ suspicions, as the man recorded more than 0.6 per mille of alcohol.
The man was immediately prevented from driving any further, and the car was towed away by a roadside assistance service. A check of police systems also revealed that he was subject to a court-imposed driving ban. The court will decide the 37-year-old’s fate. Driving a vehicle while intoxicated and breaching a court-imposed driving ban carries a penalty of up to 5 years in prison.
