The subject of “being a woman” is polarizing, both professionally and privately. That is why it is best to approach the matter with humor. To mark International Women’s Day on March 8, a hybrid exhibition entitled “Diapers, Madness, Femininity” will appear in front of the Bolesławiec Cultural Center – International Ceramic Center. In the open air. And additionally as a 3D exhibition on the Internet. Both will be available to visitors 24 hours a day until the end of March.

Sabine Euler expresses her very personal view of this subject in caricatures: humorously, critically and, at the same time, conciliatorily (describing conduct, an attitude, etc. that expresses a desire not to enter into conflicts—not so much a desire to avoid them as to prevent them wisely; a literary word, editor’s note).

Sabine Euler is herself the mother of three children and lives with her husband in Görlitz, Germany. After graduating from drama school, she worked in theaters in the German states of Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate, and later as a copy editor in Munich. In the meantime, she supported herself by working as a vegetable seller, fountain installer, airbag tester, voice-over artist and employee of a deceleration service. As a freelance caricaturist and illustrator since 2020, she combines the most interesting elements of all the professions she has pursued: what she saw, heard, observed and experienced, she transfers onto paper using ink and colored pencil, while her favorite subject remains the exciting life of a wife, friend and mother.

There is no doubt that being a woman is exciting!

The exhibition, part of the project “Diapers, Madness, Femininity? A hybrid exhibition project from the Euroregion for the Euroregion,” carried out by the Association for the Promotion of the City of Culture Görlitz-Zgorzelec (FVKS e.V.) in cooperation with the Bolesławiec Cultural Center – International Ceramic Center, is co-financed by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund and by the Polish state budget under the Small Projects Fund of the Interreg Saxony-Poland 2014–2022 program.
