Head of the Ministry of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek was a guest on Polish Radio's Programme 3. Asked about the education bill vetoed by the President of the Republic of Poland, the minister said:
The president said that he had to veto this bill for the time being because today is not the time for disputes, but for unity around important matters connected, after all, with this terrible war in Ukraine.
And he immediately added:
He also told me that he values the provisions contained in it. He would probably have comments on several points, but generally he has nothing against these provisions—just not at this particular moment.
Minister Czarnek said on air that although he disagreed with A. Duda's reasoning, he respected the president's decision. He added sarcastically that since the opposition calls the bill “lex Czarnek,” it would soon be... “lex Czarnek 2.0.” And that opposition politicians should “not be especially pleased.”
