– Since I am appealing to you for unity and an end to political disputes, I have decided to refer this bill for reconsideration – the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda announced during a meeting of the National Security Council.
The president pointed out that the bill contained a number of solutions he supported and that should be introduced. But he immediately added:
But let us set that aside for later. For now, this bill has been vetoed; please consider the matter closed for the time being and do not let it distract us from the most important issues, matters concerning Poland’s security.
And he appealed:
A bill on the defense of the homeland is before you in the Sejm. I kindly ask you to adopt it swiftly. We urgently need it.
