On Saturday, 27 March, the Inter-Voivodeship Junior Championships in Sport Bridge were held in Wrocław, with bridge players from the following voivodeships taking part: Lower Silesian, Silesian, Opole and Lubusz.
The competition was won by the pair Michał Klukowski and Alicja Bilska (representing Wrocław). The BKB Bolesławiec players, Norman Lippik and Rafał Molenda, finished second. Katowice players Katarzyna Roszyk and Tomasz Potrawa (the current Polish junior champion) took third place. Winning the south-western macroregion runner-up title is the greatest success in youth bridge in Bolesławiec.
The second BKB Bolesławiec pair also performed very well: Krystian Fecyk – Szymon Kut, who finished 12th. The youngest competitors in the field, Janek and Jakub Dziuba (aged 11), finished the competition in 18th place.
At the same time, qualifying rounds for the National Youth Olympics (born 1992–1994) were held. Justyna Bartz and Dawid Permus put in a very good performance, finishing 10th. The young bridge players are coached by Roland Lippik and Sławomir Zimniak. The participation of BKB Bolesławiec representatives in the competition was made possible thanks to funding from the Municipality of Bolesławiec.
Anyone interested in learning sport bridge can sign up for classes held every Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 at the Youth Cultural Centre.
