During the coronavirus pandemic and successive waves, when access to doctors is limited and so-called teleconsultations are common, a reader who lives in Poland but works in Germany every day decided to use a local German clinic.
He does not regret the decision. All the more so because when he fell ill and needed a doctor’s advice and assistance, he was admitted and examined without any problems. A test for COVID-19 was carried out immediately at the clinic. No one suggested a teleconsultation…
The reader claims that across the western border, people cannot understand how patients can be treated through teleconsultations. What is more, they even say that so-called teleconsultations are a rude way of dealing with a sick person.
Why is this the case? – the reader asks. Why do clinics in Germany operate normally and admit patients as usual, while here there is still confusion? You have to look for who is seeing patients and how, while contact with a doctor often takes place in the form of a so-called teleconsultation.
And do you have any experience with the approach to patients across our western border? Is it really a different world?
