According to findings by nj24.pl, both defendants come from towns near Jelenia Góra and, at the time covered by the indictment, were vicars at two different Jelenia Góra parishes. One of the defendants left the priesthood before the investigation began. He lives in Pomerania. He was suspended. The other was transferred to work at the Home for Retired Priests. He is still a priest.
– An indictment has been submitted to the District Court in Jelenia Góra against two men who allegedly, in one case, repeatedly engaged in sexual acts with a minor under 15, which was allegedly carried out in 2012–13 in Jelenia Góra; the second defendant is charged with committing other sexual acts against a minor under 15 and attempting, through violence, to induce a minor to engage in another sexual act. This allegedly took place in 2013. All charges concern acts committed against one minor. The defendants are Grzegorz B. and Łukasz D. The first defendant faces a sentence of 2 to 12 years in prison; the second, 5 to 15 years. Preventive measures in the form of police supervision, a ban on leaving the country and a property bond were applied to the suspects – Tomasz Czułowski, spokesman for the Jelenia Góra prosecutor’s office, told nj24.pl Tomasz Czułowski.
