Under the supervision of museum educators, participants will learn to make, among other things, carnival masks and clay dinosaur bowls, and will find out how an archaeologist provides “first aid” to artefacts excavated from the ground.
The classes will be held daily for two weeks of the winter holidays, at fixed times: 9:00–10:30 and 11:00–12:00 at the Tourist Information Point (Rynek 19/21). Advance booking is required. Registration is available:

Workshop schedule
- “Ceramic Masquerade” (1, 1–4 February) – during the class, participants will make mini masks using traditional clay-forming techniques; participants’ age: 3.5–15 years;
- “Archaeologist – Detective of the Past” (1, 8 and 11 February) – workshops presenting the secrets of an archaeologist’s work; participants will learn what an archaeological site looks like, how to provide “first aid” to artefacts and who may conduct field research; during the class, they can independently discover artefacts at miniature archaeological sites; participants’ age: 5–15 years;
- Thematic City Tour (1, 3 and 10 February) – tours along an individually agreed thematic route, including the most interesting architectural monuments of Bolesławiec; outdoor activities adapted to the age of the group; participants’ age: 3.5–15 years;
- “Let the Masquerade Ball Begin” (2, 4 and 9 February) – art classes traditionally organised during carnival; participants create colourful masks, ideal for a fancy-dress ball, using prepared templates and art materials – paper, tissue paper, fabrics, sequins, etc.; participants’ age: 3.5–12 years;
- “Clay Dinosaurs” (7–11 February) – art classes during which participants will make dinosaur-shaped clay bowls; participants’ age: 7–15 years;
- “In a Winter Mood” (7 February) – creative art workshops; participants will make three-dimensional winter landscapes enclosed in transparent spheres; participants’ age: 6–12 years.
Participation in the classes is free of charge. The classes will take place provided that a group of 10 participants is formed. Children under 16 must remain under the care of an adult guardian during the classes or provide the legal guardian’s consent to participate.
The workshops will be held on site. If sanitary restrictions are tightened, the organiser allows for the format of the classes to be changed or for them to be cancelled. During the pandemic, masks must be worn indoors.
