The January meeting of the Bolesławiec City Council is behind us. At the end of the session, the City Secretary Jerzy Zieliński announced that he is retiring:

I wanted to say goodbye. In this role, I am attending a City Council session for the last time. Nearly 7,000 days of work in this position are coming to an end. It is time to rest, time to retire.

He informed the councillors that from February 8 he hoped to be a “happy retiree.” He also added:

It was a great privilege and honor for me to work with successive councils during successive terms. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Council Chairman Józef Pokładek announced that the local government officials would formally thank the long-serving secretary for his work at the next meeting of the City Council.

It is not yet known who will replace J. Zieliński. We have established that a competition for the position will be announced.
