On January 19, a reader called us and informed us that two lime trees on Jana Pawła II Street in Bolesławiec had just been cut down (she used the word “murdered”), although in her opinion they were healthy. She also said that it had probably been done illegally.
Agnieszka Gergont, spokesperson for Bolesławiec City Hall, explains:
On November 22, 2021, the owner of a private property (cadastral plot no. 121/14, precinct 10 of the city of Bolesławiec, Jana Pawła II Street) submitted an application for a permit to remove four trees that posed a threat to the safety of people and property.
She adds:
After an inspection and the collection of evidence, a decision granting permission to remove the trees was issued on December 20, 2021. The trees were not “cut down illegally.”
