Windless weather, frost and high atmospheric pressure cause dust particles to remain suspended in the air, creating what is known as smog. This evening in Bolesławiec is terrible in this respect.
According to the readings from monitoring devices (as of 9:30 p.m.), PM10 and PM5 concentrations in two areas of the town exceed the daily limit by as much as several hundred percent. The situation is worst in Osiedle Kwiatowe. It is also bad in the area of Mostowa Street. The sensor in the area of Chrobrego Street recorded average air quality.
