A brief summary of 2021 was published on the Facebook profile of the Bolesławiec Healthcare Centre. The hospital:
- Vaccinated nearly 54,000 people against COVID-19.
- During the pandemic, the obstetrics and gynaecology department was the only one in the region not to suspend family births, because we know how important this is for our patients. It also continued the practice of kangaroo care by fathers.
- The general surgery department became the proud owner of an innovative ICG 4K laparoscope, which is in constant use, and oncological operations are now routine.
- The staff of the internal medicine, neurology and infectious diseases departments worked tirelessly and continuously to save the lives and protect the health of COVID-19 patients (the fight is still ongoing).
- Despite the pandemic, the trauma and orthopaedic surgery department did not suspend admissions and actively carried out all planned procedures and operations, while also training in the use of a modern orthopaedic robot, which will be delivered to our hospital any day now.
- As part of the NFZ, the paediatrics department offers young patients MRI scans under anaesthesia, with the shortest waiting time in the region. It has also increased the number of qualified medical staff. The paediatric department has its doors open to every child requiring medical assistance, regardless of the time or day.
- Thanks to the modernisation of the endoscopy unit, we perform colonoscopies and gastroscopies under full anaesthesia as part of the NFZ.
- We organised numerous White Saturdays, during which residents could receive preventive examinations, COVID-19 vaccinations, medical consultations with numerous specialists and many other attractions completely free of charge.
- In 2021, the central laboratory performed nearly 134,000 COVID-19 tests.
