The fleet of police vehicles in the Lower Silesian garrison has been expanded with a new unmarked police car equipped with a video recorder. It is a Škoda Superb, which will be used by road traffic officers from the District Police Headquarters in Lubin. The car was purchased partly through central deliveries organized by the Police Headquarters and partly with funds from the local government, on a 50–50 basis.
The new police car has a 1,984 cm³ engine producing as much as 280 HP and is equipped with 4x4 drive, which significantly improves its handling. The Škoda’s specifications will allow the officers using it to stop even the most irresponsible drivers, who unfortunately often mistake roads for race tracks and flagrantly exceed the applicable speed limits.
This is another service vehicle to be placed at the disposal of Lower Silesian police officers this year. In total, 80 new police cars were added to our garrison’s fleet in 2021, including many highly specialized vehicles that help officers carry out a wide range of duties, such as handling road accidents.
