Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki signed an order introducing the first ALFA-CRP alert level, concerning cyberspace, throughout the country. The alert level is in force from Sunday, 5 December 2021 (from 11:59 p.m.) until Friday, 10 December 2021 (until 11:59 p.m.). The introduction of the alert level is preventive in nature and is connected with the organization of the UN Digital Summit – IGF 2021 (the UN Internet Governance Forum), which is being held at the International Congress Centre in Katowice.

CRP alert levels concern threats in cyberspace. The ALFA-CRP level is the lowest of the four alert levels specified in the Counter-Terrorist Activities Act. Above all, it is a signal to the services responsible for security and to the entire public administration to exercise particular vigilance. This means that the public administration is obliged to conduct enhanced monitoring of the security status of ICT systems. Public institutions will, among other things, monitor and verify whether the security of electronic communications has been breached.

The alert levels are introduced, changed and revoked by the Prime Minister by means of an order, pursuant to the provisions of the Act of 10 June 2016 on counter-terrorist activities.

All concerning and unusual situations and threats should be reported to the Police via telephone number 112.
