A tragedy was narrowly avoided by the Bóbr River in Bolesławiec. Near Mostowa Street, a man was walking beside the river. At one point, he slipped down the embankment into the water. Passers-by happened to see the man lying by the bank. He was partially submerged in the water and was not moving.

At first, witnesses thought that the man was dead. The police were called to the scene. Police officers, together with witnesses, pulled the man onto the bank. It turned out that he was drunk. The man can speak of considerable good fortune. He fell into the water in a place where it was not deep. If the river’s current had carried him away, the outcome could have been tragic.
